Cars and Brewery Tour
One of your 3 options on Thursday is the Cars and Brewery Tour. We will start off cruising to the Midwest Microcar Museum in Mazomanie, WI, about 1 hour souith of the Chula Vista Resort.
The museum features microcars, bikes, mopeds, and more. It is truly one of the most unique car museums in the US.
After the musuem, we will head to the New Glarus Brewery in New Glarus, WI, another 40-45 miles to the south.
The brewery is the 15th largest in the US. It was founded in 1992 by the husband-wife team of Dan and Deb Carey. Deb became the first woman in the US to found and operate a brewery! Dan is a master brewer who served his apprenticeship at a small brewery near Munich Germany. Before Deb and he formed New Glarus, he worked as a production supervisor at Anheuser-Busch.
New Glarus Brewery has won multiple national awards from the Association of Brewers.
We will take a self guided tour of the brewery.
From the New Glarus Brewery, we will take a 20 minute drive to the Minhas Craft Brewery where we will can partake in a beer tasting.
The Minhas Brewery is the 10th largest brewery in the US. Their products are sold in the US and 18 other countries around the globe. Minhas sits on 4 full city blocks and has over 500,000 sq feet of buildings on 20 acres of land.
It has been family owned since 1845 and is the second oldest brewery in the US. (All you people from PA know what the oldest brewery is.)
Along with the beer tasting Minhas, has a museum of brewing related items.
The Cars and Brewery Tour offers some fun venues and some nice driving, as well. It should provide a great Thursday experience for those who opt for this tour.
